A global trend is raw material, not a finished Ghanaian campaign. Before joining it, ask whether the reference is understood locally, whether the humour travels, and whether participation fits the organisation’s role. A bank, public agency and youth brand will face different expectations.

Build a localisation note covering audience language, cultural references, accessibility, likely misreadings and the life span of the trend. Use social listening to identify how Ghanaian communities are already adapting it. Credit creators where appropriate and avoid lifting a format from a smaller account without acknowledgement.

The content should still deliver a recognisable brand idea. If removing the logo makes the post indistinguishable from dozens of others, the trend is doing more work than the strategy. Prepare a response path for criticism and archive approvals, especially where music, images or personal data are involved.

Success is not participation alone. Measure whether the post reached the intended community, prompted relevant conversation and supported a wider objective. Sometimes the best decision is to let a trend pass.
